Tobacco Exhibit Grand Opening

August 23, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Free

After years of research and preparation, the “Tobacco and the Golden Era of Halifax County” exhibit will officially open to the public. The exhibit encompasses more than 400 years of history, from Native American cultivation to modern day!  Included in the exhibit are artifacts used in tobacco cultivation, examples of tobacco products that span 150 years, and visual representations of tobacco barns. (Pictured above is a mural found in the exhibit depicting a tobacco farm during the mid-growing season painted by artist Wyatt Ramsey.)

In recognition of the exhibit’s grand opening, the SBHC Museum will host a dedication ceremony at 11:30 AM.  The museum will have extended hours on August 23rd from 4 AM until 6 PM during which refreshments will be served.

We hope to see you there!
